Mindfulness Workshop

Mindfulness is a way of being that trains some of our most important human skills: attention, consciousness, and compassion with yourself and others.

The program is developed by Dr. Ola Schenström with inspiration from Jon Kabat-Zinn (MBSR) and was introduced about 10 years ago in Sweden.

Science suggests it only takes 8 weeks so create a sustainable change if you practice Mindfulness every day.

Program Structure

Over the eight-week program, you learn several key skills that allow you to tune into and become aware of your experience in the present moment.

The course provides an opportunity for you to examine and reflect on the patterns of your own mind, feelings, and actions, and to gently interrupt patterns of self-criticism and unhelpful actions.

The program includes:
  • 8 weeks of training from 7pm to 8:30pm.
  • A detailed course workbook, which will cover the theory of each session and provide details of the home practice;
  • Downloadable guided meditations for the home practice;
  • The course teacher and administrators are also available for any urgent questions that come up between the sessions.

Note that the class size is limited to 12 participants and all sessions will be held on site at CoachCompanion Romania, in the heart of Cluj

Program Contents

The core skill that you will learn is a way of paying attention on purpose and non-judgmentally to what goes on in the present moment in your body, mind and the world around you.

Extensive scientific research into mindfulness training consistently reveals its effectiveness in enhancing health and well-being.

Some of these benefits include:

  • Reduced stress, anxiety, depression and exhaustion – and an increase in positive emotions, resilience and well-being
  • A stronger immune system, helping you to fight off illness more effectively
  • An increased capacity for focus, attention, learning, memory, creativity and concentration
  • A greater ability to regulate your emotions and to feel kind and compassionate towards ourselves and others
  • Heightened self-confidence and assertiveness.

What to expect from the program?

Over the eight-week program, you learn several key skills that allow you to tune into and become aware of your experience in the present moment.

Firstly, you establish a routine of spending some time each day by yourself formally practising mindfulness meditation. By choosing to engage in this practice you will learn how to cultivate deep states of relaxation and well-being. You will also learn how to bring moment-to-moment awareness to your experience, and then apply this awareness so you can respond – rather than react in habitual ways – to everyday life situations. This becomes much easier to do when you are regularly practising formal meditation each day.

The course provides an opportunity for you to examine and reflect on the patterns of your own mind, feelings and actions, and to gently interrupt patterns of self-criticism and unhelpful actions.

We learn how to accept and embrace the full range of experience that life inevitably brings – pleasurable, joyful and expansive experience as well as painful conditions in their various forms – worry, anxiety, tension, impatience, anger, grief and sadness. Moving towards these conditions with an open and caring attitude, rather than trying to hold on to them, or to escape or avoid them, can bring some surprising and refreshing results

Reduce your stress - Increase your ability to focus

Our 8-Week Mindfulness Course called ‘Here and Now’ combines experiential mindfulness practices with tools and techniques studied in neuroscience, psychology and well-being. It will include mindfulness meditation practices, group dialogue and discussion, tailored instructions and home assignments.

Learn more about yourself and the way you react to different situations in your life and how you could choose to respond more calmly and creatively.

8-week Mindfulness programs are recognized and taught all over the world. They have been scientifically proven to help people cope better with stress while improving their well-being.
